Membership of the library service is free and any resident of Western Australia can join.

If you are over 18 years of age, you can join online by clicking I Accept at the bottom of this page after reading the following information and library guidelines.

Alternatively, you may fill out an application form in person at yourlocal library.

By joining online you will become an eLibrary memberwhich will allow you to use a variety of our electronic resources, including:

New library cards are typically posted out to new members within 5 working days of receiving your online membership application.

If you wish to borrow physical resources from our libraries, please visit your nearest branch in person with your new card and some ID

Membership details are confidential and will not be disclosed to unauthorised parties

If you are atemporary resident, or do not have any proof of address, you can register to become a temporary member.

If you are under 18 years old, you will need to visit your nearest branch in person and a parent or guardian must accompany you and sign the membership register.


Guidelines for Using the Library and its Resources

By joining as a member of the City of Wanneroo Library Service, you are able to borrow from and/or use the facilities of any City of Wanneroo library as set out in the Library Services Policy, the Terms and Conditions of Membership Management Procedure and the Public Computer and Internet Access Management Procedure. These are available on request and are summarised below.

  • Present a current and debt-free library card to borrow items from the libraries
  • Take responsibility for all items borrowed using your library card.
  • Note: parents/guardians are responsible for items borrowed on their child's/dependant's card.
  • Notify us promptly if your library card is lost or stolen. You are liable for any items lent or charges incurred prior to notification.
  • Notify us of any change of address, phone number or email address.
  • Return or renew all items borrowed on or before the due date. An item can be renewed provided another library member has not requested it.
  • Be aware you will be charged for any items lost or damaged while in your care. If items are stolen, we will waive these fees if you provide us with a police report number for the stolen items.
  • You are responsible for any charge, including administration fees, levied by the City of Wanneroo for the damage, loss or late return of any item borrowed.
  • Check your items prior to borrowing them to ensure there is no existing damage and please do not try to repair items yourself.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome but please do not bring other pets into the library
  • Abide by the internet use conditions provided by the library.

The Library Services Policy is available on the City of Wanneroo website or on request at any of the City's libraries.

The City of Wanneroo Libraries also abide by the Library Board of Western Australia Act 1951 and the Library Board (Registered Public Libraries) Regulations 1985.
